BloodLust Ball 2016

The 2016 BloodLust Ball is on again at the Tivoli in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. The date for the Ball is Saturday the 27th of August.

This year we celebrate the ancient origins of our vampyre ancestors in the lost civilisations of the Near East.

As the world ages and the ravages of war and materialism destroy what little is left, we need to take time to remember our origins and pay homage to our ancestors.

Tickets are available from Underworld Realm - 91 Elizabeth St, Brisbane City, Ecclectica Esoteric Books and Curiosities - 163 Boundary St, West End, Our Lady of the Saintly Salvage - Annerley Arcade, Shop 10, 478 Ipswich Rd Annerley, or online - please use the contact form on this website and we will get back to you with the details such as prices and how to pay.

Tickets are $60 for a General Admission ($70 on the door) and $125 for a Vampyre Royalty Ticket (these sell out, so be quick if you want one).

BloodLust Ball 2015

The 2015 BloodLust Ball is on again at the Tivoli in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. The date is Saturday the 22nd of August.

Will you go to Heaven or will you go to Hell?.

This is the question we have for everyone attending this year. Come as a resident of Heaven or Hell, or come as an aspirant to the ascension to Heaven or a devotee of the path to Hell. Come as a vampyre, one of the dwellers of the dark spaces in between. Or just come to see the fireworks between them. Either way, come and enjoy the food, wine (or spirits), the music and dancing, the art and entertainment, and friends both old and new.

Entertainment this year is provided by Sondrine and Arado, and special guest Drewcifer. Portrait photography is provided by Red Boots Photography.

Tickets are available from Voodoo Lulu - 248 Wickham St, Fortitude Valley, Underworld Realm - 91 Elizabeth St, Brisbane City, Ecclectica Esoteric Books and Curiosities - 163 Boundary St, West End, or online - please contact us through this website or through our facebook page.

Tickets are $60 for a General Admission ($70 on the door) and $125 for a Vampyre Royalty Ticket (these sell out, so be quick if you want one).

Special thanks to our sponsors this year - Voodoo Lulu, UnderWorld Realm, Ecclectica Esoteric Books & Curiosities, Rosen Cakes, Doctar Hackenslash, Tragic Beautiful, The Dark Shadows, author Jason Nahrung, That Crazy Place, doll maker Lia Frances, Deep Grey Photography and of course The Tivoli. BloodLust Ball 2014

This year’s BloodLust Ball was a Hollywood themed event - Vampyres of the Silver Scream, ahh, that should read Screen. It was a 20th birthday celebration of sorts, it was 20 years since the very first BloodLust Ball was held - 1994. We decided to invite some very old friends along and the evening was the best event yet.

Proudly part of the Brisbane Fringe Festival, it was also the first year of the CMVS becoming an official fundraiser for the Red Cross Blood Bank. Medical research is a passion of the CMVS……and so is blood!

Resident DJ's Jurassic Jeff and Nephthys provided a great mix of new and old music for our broad range of guests.

Our sponsor Red Boots Photography captured the portrait moments, while Mandy Misfit captured the crowd.

The art competition each year grows from strength to strength, really showcasing the talent that Brisbane artists are capable of. Each year the guests choose their favourite piece and that winner receives a cash prize to go toward their artistic endeavours.

Friends of Alice Ivy (formerly Ostia) played the very first BloodLust Ball in 1994, back where it all began. The BloodLust Ball in 2014 is where they wanted to launch their new album - The Golden Cage and its Mirrored Maze. What greater place than to come back home where it all began? A full band performance with special guest on guitar Clifford from gothic heavy weights Ikon and Subterfuge, Kylie and Amps were all grown up, their music was haunting, ethereal and set the mood for an evening that no one will ever forget.

A dark and mesmerizing performance piece by Dark Nile (or their facebook page) kicked off the evening’s second performance. Their amazing headpieces made them unable to stand up properly in their dressing room. The piece for the night, specially developed, choreographed and premièred at this event. The crowd were enchanted and enthralled.

Joanne (CMVS founder and BloodLust Ball creator) gave the welcome speech and the Mr and Mrs Transylvania awards were given to Glenn Ward and Fiona McPherson for best costume. Bat Nouveau gave a special thank you to the CMVS for the cash grant given out for their artistic endeavours and the importance of supporting local artists.

BloodLust Ball veterans Tycho Brahe pulled together a very special show for the CMVS this year. New recordings and old favourites filled the dance floor much to the delight of Tycho and of course our guests. What a grand finale!

The BloodLust Ball

Joanne Perry had an idea, to create a dark fantasy ball as part of a celebration of all things Gothic and Vampyre. This led to the creation of the Carpathian Magistratus Vampyre Society and the creation of the BloodLust Ball.

The first BloodLust Ball was held in 1994 as the inaugural CMVS Ball.

The CMVS and BloodLust Ball had a worldwide following and gained recognition in international alternative and Gothic media.
